generation all-new Creta is set to define the new Benchmark in its segment with its futuristic design, power-packed performance and an extensive array of comfort & convenience features. Speaking at the launch of ‘all-new Creta’, Mr. S S Kim, MD & CEO, Hyundai Motor India Ltd., said,
"all-new Creta is the result of Hyundai’s Ultimate Science of Human Engineering to create the Ultimate SUV for Indian customers. It is built on a superstructure and promises an inimitable Driving Experience. I am confident that all new Creta will continue to lead the segment."
The deliveries for the all-new Creta will begin tomorrow (March 17) for bookings made earlier this month, the waiting period for bookings made now already stretch to eight weeks. Hyundai has revealed that it has received over 14,000 bookings for the all-new Creta. While the previous generation Hyundai Creta was a proper conventionally designed SUV, the new generation Hyundai Creta aims to spice things up by mixing radically designed elements. The second-gen Creta not only comes with revamped exterior and interiors but will also come with a new BS6-compliant engine line-up.
Inspired by the Hyundai Palisade, Hyundai's flagship SUV the Hyundai Creta is a sight to behold. The new Creta is marginally larger than the original and is longer in its wheelbase too.
The split headlight arrangement comprises a slit-like LED DRL on top with the main cluster – also lined by an LED strip – positioned lower down.
The headlight cluster is made of LED headlights with new-look fog lamps below. A scuff plate at the base of the bumper is also included. The exterior elements also include a "flying C-pillar", new 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and the unique layout of the CRETA emblem at the rear.
There is a black and beige interior theme on the dash and the perforated seats and have a criss-cross, diamond-stitch design. The dash on the new Creta houses a 10.25-inch infotainment screen that is landscape-orientated which comes with Advanced BlueLink connected car tech that first debuted on the Venue compact SUV and a Bose Premium Sound System with 8 Speakers. It will also come with a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster with a tire pressure monitor. Other features on the new Creta include Voice-Enabled Smart Panoramic Sunroof, Trio Beam LED Headlamps, Electric Parking Brake, Auto Healthy Air Purifier, 2 Step Rear Seat Reclining, Paddle Shifters, and MT Remote Engine Start.
The 2020 Hyundai Creta is 4,300 mm long, 1,635 mm wide and 1,790 mm tall. It has a wheelbase of 2,610 mm. The 2020 Hyundai Creta will be powered by a 140 bhp 1.4-liter turbocharged petrol or a 115 bhp 1.5-litre petrol and a 115 bhp 1.5-liter turbocharged diesel engines with transmission options that include a 6-speed manual transmission, a CVT and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) as well. It will also come with Drive & Traction Modes for the engine – like Comfort, Eco, and Sport – along with modes depending on traction – such as snow, sand, and mud. Higher variants will also come with rear disc brakes. In terms of rivals, the new Creta competes with the Kia Seltos, Tata H5, Renault Duster and Nissan Kicks.
